This seems to be the year of the babies. I feel like all my friends are either trying, pregnant, or have a little one fresh from the oven. Here's some info I found about exercise for moms-to-be.

While there are some precautions, most women who stay active during pregnancy experience:

  • Improved posture and appearance
  • Relief of back pain
  • Stronger muscles in preparation for labor and support for loosened joints
  • Improved circulation
  • Increased flexibility
  • Increased/maintained aerobic endurance
  • Increased energy level and less fatigue
  • Decreased muscle tension that promotes relaxation
  • Promotion of feelings of well-being and a positive self-image
  • Decreased recovery time after delivery
