the honest truth

I've been so inspired by so many of your comments and e-mails. I just love hearing from you! Along with the inspiring, I've heard from some who are frustrated and discouraged. So I thought there are some things you should know.

First of all, I didn't always work out. No, I didn't just pop out of my mother's womb in a runner's lunge or grand battement. No one does. And there was a point where I was actually addicted to Dr. Pepper and those gross chocolate donuts you get at the gas station. But I didn't like how I felt and I didn't like how I looked. I knew I deserved better.

I tried every diet and workout program until I finally figured out what worked for me. I found exercise that I really enjoyed and I made small changes in my diet and lifestyle everyday. As I've gradually gotten more consistent, it has gradually gotten easier and my weight has fluctuated less and less. It wasn't always easy and natural and it wasn't overnight.

I still have those days where I wish my legs were skinnier or where all I want is a scone from sconecutter. I still don't eat perfectly. And it's still just about making those smart choices everyday. It's still work.

But what I've found, and what I hope to share on this blog is that the work can be fun. And living this way can, rather than make your life more restrictive, make it more full and rewarding.
